About the Event

The Sycamore Community Garden is holding our second Hands-on International Cooking Class!

This fundraiser is limited to 12 participants.

Learn to prepare an authentic, typical Somali meal directly from Batulo, a refugee whose family has recently been resettled in Concord after leaving her home in Somalia.

We will gather as a group to learn and help with the preparation; followed by eating this delicious dinner together and have great conversations!

  • Sambusa: Meat Pies + Vegan Pies (your choice)
  • Spiced Tea
  • Soor (porridge-like dish made from maize flour, butter and water)
  • Soup
  • Shortbread Cookies

TEACHER: Batulo

Proceeds from the evening will go directly to support the teachers & his/her family during their transition to life in America, as well as Sycamore Community Garden.
